Read Julian’s thoughts below.
When did you join the club?
I joined the club at 5 when my older brothers went in to play, we were all lumped in together and it was sink or swim back then, I’ve great memories of minis rugby in Kilkenny, every game was a World Cup final.
What do you enjoy most about being a member of Kilkenny RFC?
Even when I played away from Kilkenny I always kept a connection with the club, it’s a family club and now my own kids are playing which is very satisfying to watch. I miss the Tuesday night sessions with the lads, the abuse was great fun.
What are your ambitions for Kilkenny RFC for this year?
There’s a great committee in place, I think what they have done to develop the club, especially helped by the disco funds, has been really impressive, it would be great to see that development continue. On the rugby front it’s great fun watching my kids and others in the minis section develop and learn the game.
